Reiki Perche — Nicolas Simonin

Learning Reiki

The 3 degrees of initiation, prerequisites and course outline.

Why receive an initiation?

Receiving a Reiki initiation is not about learning a simple technique that you reproduce mechanically from a website or a PDF.
It is about answering an impulse: to slow down, to connect with what moves us deeply, and to discover a gentler, more conscious way of taking care of ourselves and others. An initiation is first of all a time of sharing: you receive a living transmission, beyond words, which opens a door within yourself.
This is not magic or mysticism, but a passing of the torch that invites each person to feel and welcome universal energy in their daily life.
I can't do a headstand! Don't worry, this is not a yoga class. We are working with energy, not physical postures!

Are there any prerequisites?

None. You do not need to have practised any energy or spiritual discipline before. There is no notion of a "gift".
All that matters is a sincere wish to give yourself some time, to relax, to free yourself from inner tension, and to make room for more peace and ease in your life. Reiki is accessible to everyone, whatever their age, history or beliefs.

What is the point of receiving an initiation?

The initiation gives everyone the ability to practise on themselves: to ease stress, to support the balance of body and mind, and to accompany more difficult times in life — emotional blockages, conflict, dependencies, or simply fatigue and a loss of momentum. It also makes it possible, if you wish, to share Reiki with those close to you, with respect and simplicity. As you practise, experience deepens, confidence grows, and everyone moves forward at their own pace — with no obligation to go further, but with a door opened that never closes again.

In practice, what do you learn?

During the initiation you discover the foundations of Reiki as passed on by Mikao Usui.

Initiation here takes place in person: the meeting between teacher and participant makes this vibrational transmission unique.

Sometimes we can feel alone in our practice, with questions on our mind.
Sometimes we would like to find group work again, or take time to talk without necessarily receiving an individual session.
You may get lost in the hand positions, be puzzled by certain sensations, or simply want to share your experience: further-practice meetings are held regularly, at your convenience.

THE DEGREES OF REIKI

The teaching is structured in several stages. These degrees correspond to an integration of the practice, to individual experience and, little by little, to everything that raises each person's "vibrational level".
Time and humility cannot be tamed quickly. While it seems hard to me to claim to open a practice after a First or Second Degree course, nothing prevents you from laying on hands and letting Reiki arise and flow.

There is no obligation to follow the whole path: each degree is complete in itself.
For some, the First Degree will already be very intense and "enough".
The Second Degree is the heart of Reiki. The Third Degree brings Alignment, the Fourth enables teaching.
